Progress of My Young Adult Science Fiction Novel, Stranders

I've almost finished writing my young adult science fiction novel, Stranders (a name that may change). Stranders tells the story of Mariah Rhodes, a fourteen-year-old girl with telekinesis who is born into a religious cult that disapproves of supernatural powers. 

The theme of the novel is survival despite multiple major traumatic events. It starts off rather dark.  

A friend recently read Chapter 1, "Journey to Hell," and raved about it. This reaction thrills me, especially because the novel has great personal meaning.   

Stranders includes an invention I've never seen in any other science fiction novel. You need to read the novel when it's published to find out what it is.
